WCD named a 2026 Top Workplace

Wisconsin Center District recognized locally and nationally as an employer of choice

The Wisconsin Center District is proud to announce a major milestone: for the first time ever, the organization has been named a USA Today Top Workplace, earning national recognition for its exceptional culture and commitment to its team.

This inaugural national honor builds on continued local success, as the District was also recognized as a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Top Workplace for the third consecutive year, further reinforcing its reputation as one of the region’s leading employers.

“This first-ever national recognition is a powerful reflection of the culture we’ve built, one driven by bold thinking, shared pride and an unwavering commitment to event excellence,” said Wisconsin Center District President and CEO Marty Brooks. “Our team shows up every day ready to deliver exceptional experiences, and it’s that energy and dedication that continues to elevate Milwaukee as a must-visit destination.”

Both designations are based solely on confidential employee feedback gathered through third-party surveys administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage LLC. The survey measures overall workplace experience and culture-drivers such as leadership, appreciation and career growth.

In recent years, the WCD has grown its staff to more than 500, roughly doubling the size of its workforce compared to 2023. At the same time, the organization decreased turnover rates in 2025 by double digits, reflecting its focus on strong workplace culture and employee investment.

Notable initiatives launched in 2025 include the Bold. Proud. Experience-Obsessed (BPX) University, a free internal training and professional development program for all staff. Additional benefits include a competitive starting salary for part-time staff of $17 per hour, nutritious $5 weekday lunches, expanded insurance benefits and free parking and bus passes.

“Great experiences start with empowered teams,” said Wisconsin Center District Vice President of Human Resources Nila Tuckson. “By investing in our people, and giving them the tools, trust and opportunities to grow, we’re not only strengthening our workforce, we’re shaping a culture that defines who we are and drives everything we do.”
