Deferred Compensation Plan
WCD employees can participate in the City of Milwaukee’s Deferred Compensation Plan through Voya, a retirement savings benefit similar to a 401(k).
All employees must complete the required WCD form before scheduling an introductory call with Voya to learn more about the plan and enrollment process.

Both full-time and part-time employees may participate, provided part-time employees work at least 20 hours per week.

WCD offers the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through AllOne Health to all full-time and part-time employees and their family members. This benefit provides free, confidential support, including counseling, life coaching, financial and legal consultations, and work-life resources.

Paid Parental Leave
WCD offers eligible full-time and part-time employees paid parental leave to recover from childbirth or bond with a newborn, adopted, or newly placed foster child.
Full-time: Must have at least 12 months of employment (not necessarily consecutive).
Part-time: Must have at least 24 months of employment and work a minimum of 520 hours each eligibility year.
Eligible employees may receive up to six weeks of paid leave at 100% of regular straight-time pay. Additional eligibility requirements, timeframes, and documentation apply.

As a governmental entity, WCD qualifies as an eligible employer for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. Eligible full-time employees may qualify for forgiveness of their remaining federal student loan balance after 120 qualifying monthly payments.
Employees are encouraged to submit employment certification annually to ensure qualifying payments are properly tracked.

Eligible employees who started on or after January 1, 2024, are enrolled in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS).
