FAQs

How do employee's request tickets?

To request tickets, WCD employees must fully fill out the online ticket request form, which you can find here. Complete the entire form and then click “Submit form.”

What venues can I request tickets for?

WCD typically receives a limited allotment of tickets for events at Baird Center, Miller High Life Theatre, UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena and Fiserv Forum.

Ticket availability varies by event and venue. For example, Fiserv Forum events often include eight (8) tickets for WCD employees, while Panther Arena and Miller High Life Theatre events typically offer between 30 and 50 tickets.

How many tickets can I request?

Employees can request up to four tickets for an event, but availability varies—especially for popular shows. Two-ticket requests are typically easier to accommodate, while requests for one or three tickets are less likely to be approved. If you’re requesting four tickets but are flexible with receiving only two, include that on your request form to boost your chances.

How often can I request tickets?

You can request tickets as often as you like; however, the more you request, the less likely you are to receive tickets.

For example, if you are trying to go to a Bucks game, and to improve your chances, you request tickets for all home games for the next two months. Even if you’re only trying to go to one, those other requests will be taken into account by both your manager and by Marty and likely lead to all requests being denied.

It is highly recommended that you be selective with your requests.

When am I eligible to request tickets?

WCD employees are allowed to request tickets 90 days after their hire date.

Who approves ticket requests?

Ticket requests first go to your supervisor. They determine whether to approve or deny a request based on factors such as hours worked, how many ticket requests they’ve put in previously, how many events attended, how many events they were denied for tickets, how many active requests for tickets they have and various other criteria.

If approved, they send the requests to the box office which works with Marty to evaluate each event and determine who receives tickets based on criteria similar to the above.

Who is able to request tickets?

Only WCD employees are allowed to request tickets.

When should I expect to know if I got the tickets or not?

Typically, we notify employees 10 to 14 days before the event. Employees who completed the form will receive an email notifying them whether not they received tickets for the requested event.

Can you request tickets for friends? Do I have to go to the event?

You may request tickets for friends and family but understand that whoever goes to the event is a representative of the WCD. If an incident were to occur at an event involving tickets you received, that can and will be reported back to the WCD.

How long before an event can I request tickets?

Ticket request can be made two months, or roughly 60 days, before the event date. That is typically when the event is added to the ticket request form.

It is important to note that tickets are not first come, first serve. That is not a factor for decided who receives tickets.

I see “priority” level listed on the ticket request form. Are those my personal priority for wanting to go to an event, or is it something else?

Nine out of 10 times, people put high priority for ticket requests. However, that doesn’t mean it will help you get those tickets. Just because you want to go more than someone else doesn’t mean it will improve your chances.

That’s because the priorities are considered priorities for WCD business. So, when putting your priority level, these are what they are intended to represent:

1 (High): Should only be used when requesting tickets for a client or business partner.
2 (Average): These are for personal use.
3 (Low)These are ticket requests for friends and family.

What if I requests tickets and can no longer attend the event?

If you requests tickets and can no longer attend the event, you should notify the box office at ticketrequests@wcd.org as soon as possible but especially if you have already been approved for the tickets. Even if it is the day before the event, please notify the box office.

Additionally, the box office receives redemption reports from all events. These show if tickets were used or not. If you request tickets, especially for an event that had a lot of requests, and don’t go, that can be used against you when requesting tickets in the future.

If I have more questions about ticket requests, who should I contact?

Any WCD employee with questions about ticket requests should email ticketrequests@wcd.org. Do not contact the box office.
